DAY 13 - ENFIELD TO CRESWICK

We had lovely sunny weather for most of today's ride, skirting around the east of Ballarat. We were still on the Colac to Ballarat road from our b & b at Enfield until just after Napoleons.

Packed up and ready to go
Starting the day's ride

Napoleons - anyone looking for inspiration for a baby's name?
From Napoleons we cut across to Buninyong, host village of the Australian road cycling championships. We had Mt Buninyong in our sights on the way.

Looking forward to Mt Buninyong
When we got to Buninyong, we looked at some of the cycling-related displays, then enjoyed a morning coffee break at one of the village's cafes.

From Buninyong it was logical for us to cycle up Mt Buninyong (cyclists climb up Mt Buninyong, we are cyclists, therefore we climb up Mt Buninyong). So we did.
Climbing Mt Buninyong
The national road cycling championship course goes half-way up the mountain, but keen cyclists can continue up to the top. So we did.
Mt Buninyong - up to the top
At the top of the mountain there is a lookout tower, which you can climb to see the views all around. So we did.
We took a selfie at the top
And took some other photos
And then we climbed down
From Mt Buninyong it was mostly downhill to Eureka, where we examined the Eureka Stockade memorial and had a picnic lunch by the pond.

There were still about 20km to go after lunch. After navigating through the Eastern outskirts of Ballarat, we followed picturesque sealed roads up and down into Creswick.

Arriving in Creswick, we checked in to our b&b and went out to see some sights.
